Our very last day - lesson planning (session 16)

Planning a lesson seems like a tricky thing to me.
You need to think of so many small details: what activities to include, how to arrange the classroom, in what order the activities should go, what the aim of the lesson is, what is the purpose of doing this and not that. The most scary scenarios may come to your mind: what if the technology fails? what if the students don’t like the lesson? what if it doesn´t satisfy their needs?

These small things keep running through your head when you are trying to create a perfect lesson plan. It is even more challenging when 7 people have to cooperate and create one perfect lesson. Fortunately, in my group there are really nice people and it is a pleasure to work with them. :-)

I am really looking forward to our first lesson and I hope our students will enjoy it as well.

  1. My email does not seem to cooperate with blogger, so I'm posting in a comment: Session 17 FEEDBACK
After Nicki mimed mounting the camel, she expected to hear feedback on the quality of her acting. Instead, she heard numerous comments on the length of her dress. Then we followed suit and mimed different activities, among others milking a cow or taking a shower. The point of the activity was to practice giving feedback to our colleagues after their performance (One thing you could do to make it better …) The level of weariness among us determined both the quality of our acting, and of the feedback we were able to give. Similarly, we tried to practice being attentive and compassionate listeners. When our guest lecturer Nick mentioned sandwich feedback (positive - negative - positive), several people started to look really hungry. The candy at the end of the course significantly raised our spirits, and gave us strength enough to rush to catch our trains and busses.
